Han Ho Martial Arts provides superior training in Traditional Korean Martial Arts. Offering instruction in Taekwondo, Hapkido, Haedong Kumdo (swords) and Ssang Jul Gon (nunchaku), we approach the martial arts as a unity of body, mind and spirit. In addition to age appropriate classes and private training, Han Ho proudly trains the men and women of regional police departments and correctional facilities utilizing their specialized Police Defensive Tactics Training program. For those who want the benefits of group training without the focus of martial arts, Cardio Kickboxing classes are available.

As certified members of the highly respected United States Taekwondo Association under the guidance of founder Grand Master Dr. Richard Chun and the World Hapkido Association under the guidance of President Grand Master Tae Jung, our training is current and competitive and strives to maintain the deep rooted traditions of these ancient Korean arts. Han Hois nationally and internationally recognized by continually maintaining and receiving top honors and awards in competitions and tournments.
With the current western trend focusing on "Mixed Martial Arts (or MMA)," Han Ho is proud to provide an intensive and traditional foundation that has survived thousands of years and can be traced back to the earliest Asian civilizations. Many of the current champions of the MMA world understand the value of traditional training including the current UFC World Middle Weight Champion who is a Tae Kwon Do Black Belt. Master Mike Barnard started his training with two time Korean National Champion, Grandmaster Ki Chung Kim. Ki Chung Kim was one of the first Korean Taekwondo instructors to teach in the United States. Ki Chung Kim was also renowned for developing world champions Mark Williams, Herbert Perez, and Keith Kelly. Mike Barnard's point style victories lead him to fight professionally where he was undefeated in the Professional Karate Association (PKA).
Mike Barnard continued his studies with Grandmaster David Lentz under the watchful eyes of Grandmaster Chung Koo Kim. At the age of 14, C.K. Kim became the youngest student of the legendary Ji Do Kwan School in Korea, training under the venerable Grand Master Chung-Woo Lee. With 32 years in the arts, Grandmaster Lentz has an outstanding bio which includes over 350 championships and 50 grand championships. He is a 7th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. He is also a black belt in Brazilian Jiu -Jitsu His Jiu-Jitsu training included the Gracie Academy in California. Master Lentz opened the 1st Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school on the East Coast.
Master Barnard continues to master his Taekwondo skills and shape the TKD curriculum under the leadership of Grandmaster Richard Chun (9th Dan). Grandmaster Chun is the President of the United States Taekwondo Association (USTA) and is one of the highest ranked Taekwondo Masters in the world. Grandmaster Chun is a member of the Black Belt Hall of Fame and the Taekwondo Hall of Fame. He is the author of several important books on Martial Arts that have been translated into several foreign languages. He was appointed head coach of the U.S.A. Taekwondo team in 1973 for the first World Taekwondo Championships in Seoul. The U.S.A. Team placed second after Korea. Grandmaster Chun assisted in the organization of Taekwondo as an event in the Olympics and has since served as Senior International Referee. He holds an M.B.A. in marketing and a Ph.D. in education. Dr. Chun has been teaching Taekwondo at his center In New York for four decades.
Mike Barnard is a lifetime member of the World Hapkido Association and continues his training under the guidance of Grand Master Tae Jung and his appointed associates. Grand Master Jung is an 8th Dan Black Belt and President of the World Hapkido Association. Grand Master Jung studied in Seoul, South Korea where he trained with Grand Master Inshik Hwang, a 2nd generation master taught by the founder of Hapkido, Grand Master Yong-Sool Choi. Grand Master Jung started his career as a martial arts instructor at the United States 8th Army Headquarters in Young-San, Korea where thousands of U.S. soldiers occupied ranks until his immigration to the United States in 1982. His dedication has been appreciated and awarded by politicians, professors, and chiefs of military forces and law enforcement.
