About Us

Han Ho Martial Arts is not just about the physical aspect of the art form.  We approach the martial arts as a unity of body, mind and spirit.   Synchronizing your mind  to your movements allows a harmony to extend throughout yourself as a whole, thus expanding to your life and society.  Martial arts, the principle of physical movements, the principle of mind training and the principle of life become one and the same.

In addition to incorporating the Han Ho principles into our training, we strive to incorporate them into every aspect of our lives:

*Respect    *Confidence    *Discipline

Respect in the spiritual aspect - knowing who you are; humble; subordinate

Confidence in the mental aspect - believing in yourself; truthful; just

Discipline in the physical aspect - doing the right thing; prepared; equipped

Tae Kwon Do is a Korean unarmed martial art.  It is not only a means of kicking and punching, but also a way of life.  The main goal of the Tae Kwon Do practitioner is to achieve total mind and body control through training.

Tang Soo Do teaches empty hand and foot fighting, fighting forms, self-defense and weapons.  Tang Soo Do also incorporates principals for a healthy and harmonious lifestyle.

Haedong Kumdo is a Korean sword art which draws from battlefield tactics and techniques to build a curriculum for mental, physical and spiritual develeopment.

Hapkido is an art of self defense, a way of life and a discipline of coordination.  Hapkido includes a vast variety of arm and leg joint locks, weapon techniques, throw, kick, hit and nerve pressure techniques.  This art is only taught to adults.  It can be learned by both men and women regardless of their age. It is unique because it enables one to bring an attacker under complete control by blending with the attacker's oncoming force.

Ssang Jul Gon is the Korean art of Nunchaka.  Although it's a weapons discipline, intense mental focus for full body and mind coordination is emphasized.  Ssang Jul Gon training has been noted to increase hand speed, improve reflexes, correct posture and condition the hands of the practitioner by using grip and lock techniques and strikes.
